Position Summary

The City of Regina is beginning our search for a Manager of Business Solutions to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of Business Solutions within the Technology and Digital Innovation (TDI) Department including operational and program planning, stakeholder relationship management, financial management and people leadership. This position oversees customer relationships with all City departments, which involves the strategic planning, identification, project planning, development, implementation and support of technology-based business solutions, including data center (servers, storage and corporate network infrastructure), operating systems, voice and data communications, and database administration.  

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the City’s enterprise-wide and Department’s long term and operational Information Technology plans, while leading the Branch’s long term and annual plans. You will provide advice, guidance and information on area of subject matter expertise to senior City leaders; and ensure that departments are aware of standards, best practices, and policy in the use and operation of the City’s technology infrastructure. You will lead the development of an annual Branch wide workforce plan with a focus on identification of the necessary human resources both in terms of capacity and competency. You will provide direct leadership, mentoring and coaching of the Branch supervisors, coordinators and other staff. In this role, you will be expected to lead the development of the Business Solutions budget and ensure that there is timely and accurate forecasting and ongoing analysis of the Operating and Capital budgets and expenditures. This role will also provide approvals for procurement, including the development of business cases, while managing the negotiation of agreements between City and external vendors/service providers.

The ideal candidate would possess progressive knowledge and experience leading in the technology field, including, technology infrastructure planning, knowledge of core management practices, service delivery models, policy development, planning, budgeting, and performance management. Superior communication, negotiation and problem solving skills are required to be successful in this position.
